My name is prashanna man pradhan fron thamel ktm. I was born on 1993-04-13. I was only 18 when I started my career at tattoo. My dad (Babu Raja Pradhan) taught me how to tattoo. When I was around 12 years old i started drawing and sketching and I joined fine arts coaching class at that time. I was around 18 years old when I did my first tattoo which was a tribal tattoo. Me and my dad both were happy that i did a great job. From that day I moved forward and did more and more tattoos.
I was inspired by my dad to do this job. Everyday i used to look up to him and said to myself that one day i will make you proud. I always stand right beside him to see how he does everything and how i can replicate that in my own tattoos. I was very young at that time but very focused on my work and never let him down. I was working at the age of 18 when my friends were playing outside, sometimes I miss my childhood but i never said a word and gave my heart to tattoo.
My dad ( Babu Raja Pradhan) is a well renowned tattoo artist of Nepal. His journey in Tattoo industry began somewhere around 1993 when I was just a newborn. His journey began when he met a girl from austria. He then convinced her to teach her the art of tattooing and in return he would all the lodging and fooding expenses of her. She agreed and taught him. At that time there was no professional tattoo artist in Nepal and he became the first tattoo artist of nepal. He then started to tattoo his friends and colleagues. After 3 or 4 months he opened a studio named “Thamel Tattoo Studio” later renamed as “Thamel Babu’s Tattoo”. He used to say that the 1st year of his tattooing career was very hard as there were no proper equipment and inks available in Nepal. And on top of that there were lots of people wanting to get tattooed. Slowly he started importing tattoo equipments from abroad. He then visited many countries like the Netherlands, India, Germany, and many others for tattooing. After 5 or 6 years of this tattooing career he then opened a new and improved tattoo studio right next to the old studio in thamel. At that time he also hired an assistant to help him, before that he used to operate the studio alone. In his tattooing career he tattoo many celebrities like Rajendra khadki “action director’, Bhuwan KC “Actor” and many others that I can’t remember.
At the age of 50, he was still tattooing. At that also he was very good and many nepalese and foreigners were keen on making tattoo from him. At that time I was still learning to tattoo and just started to pratice on fake skin.
